Clinical Beliefs
Sometimes the weight of life can be extremely overwhelming. Regardless of the reason you have sought counseling, I am here to listen and work with you. As a professional in counseling, I am committed to helping you evaluate your needs, solutions to problems, and be a support as you attempt to wrestle with life's challenges. I welcome individual sessions with adults, who would like to discuss anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, sex, sexuality and identity, and general life stressors. I approach each case with what will fit best for the you and your goals, including person-centered, CBT, and narrative. I believe that a collaborative relationship between a client and therapist is essential in navigating goals, therapeutic approaches, and facilitating personal growth. While my first goal is to be supportive and listening, I will also provide the accountability and encouragement for you to construct your life narrative. It would be an honor to help you meet your therapeutic goals and help you enjoy life to the fullest. If you are not sure what those are, that is also okay! We can figure out your goals along the way.
Specialties
Jerry welcomes individual sessions with adults and older teens, both in-person and telehealth, who would like to discuss anxiety, depression, sex, sexuality and identity, and general life stressors.
Treatment Modalities
Jerry prefers to approach each case with what will fit best for the client and their goals. By default, he begins with a developmental, person-centered approach but also incorporates, trauma-informed, CBT, other modalities where appropriate.
