What to expect
In our initial meeting, I'll guide you through the therapy process, provide background information, review policies and confidentiality limits, and answer any questions you might have. We'll also get to know each other, discuss your concerns and other life areas, and may set specific goals for our sessions. These goals will serve as a roadmap for our future meetings. The format of subsequent sessions can vary. Typically, they are conversational and less structured, allowing you to share updates or reflections on your thoughts, behaviors, or mood. Certain approaches like EMDR follow a more structured process.
